A Secret Proposal at Villa del Balbianello on Lake Como

Lake Como has always been a place of romance, and on July 15th it became the backdrop for one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever witnessed. What Brooke thought would be a simple photoshoot at Villa del Balbianello became the beginning of a new chapter in her love story with Max.

She was so excited to plan a romantic photoshoot at Villa del Balbianello, followed by a boat ride on the lake. What she didn’t know was that Max had secretly contacted me too, with a beautiful plan to propose during the session. From that moment, I was carrying their little secret, and I couldn’t wait to help bring it to life.

We met in Lenno and made our way by to the villa. I suggested a moment for Brooke to stand on the terrace, looking out over the water. She thought it was just another portrait, but behind her, Max was waiting with a ring in his hand. When she turned around and saw him on one knee, time seemed to stop. Her hands flew to her face, her eyes filled with tears, and then came the laughter, the joy, the “yes.” It was such a raw, emotional moment, one of those where you almost forget you’re holding a camera because your heart is too full.

The day continued with so much happiness, flowing effortlessly into their boat ride. The wind in Brooke’s hair, the way Max couldn’t stop smiling, the two of them wrapped in each other’s arms, it was pure love in its most natural form.

For me, it was an honor to capture this chapter of their story. These photographs aren’t just images; they’re memories of the day Brooke said yes to forever, in one of the most romantic places in the world.
