A Vow Renewal on Lake Como: The Sweet Intimacy of Denise and Tyson
Some love stories arrive quietly, with no frills, yet with an intensity that leaves a lasting impression. Denise and Tyson’s story was exactly that — simple, sincere, and deeply moving. When Denise first reached out to me, she already had a clear vision in mind: an intimate vow renewal surrounded by the natural beauty of Lake Como, no fuss, just the two of them and a moment to treasure forever.
We started planning their photo session for the end of May, exploring different options between villas and boat rides. After a few attempts to book Villa Monastero didn’t work out, we moved to our “Plan B” — Villa Cipressi, a botanical gem nestled in the heart of Varenna. Its terraced gardens overlooking the lake turned out to be the perfect backdrop for their private vows.
On the morning of the shoot, we met just outside the villa, with the scent of flowers in the air and the soft morning light setting the mood. Denise and Tyson were quietly excited — elegantly simple, and full of smiles that spoke volumes. We strolled through the gardens, sharing laughs and heartfelt embraces, and then boarded a boat for a little tour on the lake, where the water’s soft blue hues beautifully framed their love.
Even though Denise joked that they’re not “professional models,” in front of the camera they were everything that matters — authentic, spontaneous, real. And that’s exactly what I look for.
It was such an honor to be a part of this deeply personal moment. As a photographer, I’m not searching for the perfect pose, but for the truth hidden in a glance, in a gesture, in a shared smile.
